Something exciting happened this week....a day we've been waiting for for 10 years! Ayden tried out and made his High School baseball team! We are so proud of him and excited for him. Here are some baseball pictures of him from over the years and a couple recent videos of him. I sure love this boy!

Thoughts?

This happened last night...
I have a 14 year old son Ayden. He went to a HS basketball game and after the game he rode in a car with a kid who only has his ‘learners permit’ to his house. I’m not happy about it at all. He says I’m overreacting and being too protective.
 I am a stay at home mom and he knows I’m always available for rides. Before the game he had already mentioned that he may need a ride after the game. I never got the call. He says the other kids in the car have parents who don’t even care. I say that’s a bunch of bull. Or maybe they don’t know and if they knew they’d care. I’ve told my kids, DO NOT LIE TO ME! I don’t like liars. He thinks that he should have just lied to me and told me the parents gave him a ride.
 I have a brother who died in a car accident when he was 15. I know how kids are. Especially with a car full of teenagers, it’s too easy to get distracted. It worries me. I don’t want to bury any of my babies. I’ve buried a brother, a best friend and a husband and I know those influence my thoughts as a parent, but shouldn’t they? I need your thoughts. Am I overreacting?

Hello again!

     It has been a long time since I've used this blog, but I want to start using it again. There is so much going on in our life and with the kids I feel like I have a lot to say about things in general that people need/want to hear! I'm not good at journaling and I think if I use this, then that would count! I never imagined having 6 kids, that my life would be like this. A few important things I've learned are:

 * Having adult children is more difficult than babies

 * Boys eat A LOT! My biggest monthly expense is FOOD! They never stop eating!!!

 * Girls can cry at the snap of your fingers. It's really quite amazing ☺️

 * The Book of Mormon is the best parenting handbook ever written

 * Watching your kids do something they love and are good at is so rewarding as a parent

 * Patience truly is a virtue, a virtue I am in desperate need of!

 * Nurturing your marriage is more/equally important than nurturing your children

* Finding joy is a conscious decision. The term 'Misery loves Company' is too accurate

      There's many more, but these are the things that come to my mind often. I had a dream last night, which is very uncommon. I dreamt that I started writing on my blog again! WEIRD! Frankly, that's the reason why I'm doing this. I never dream, and if I do I don't remember them so I figure that the fact that I dreamed and actually remembered it, then it's for a reason. I've thought a lot about writing a book and maybe this is my start! I have been through more in my 40 years than most experience in their lifetime. I've learned a lot, I've loved a lot, I've hurt a lot, I've cried a lot, I've laughed a lot, I've grown a lot, and I think I have a lot to offer others.
